in about a fortnight(2weeks)we ledt the Embassy at Half past Three. We walked out an headed down to Bond Street Underground for the return trip home. we walked to the top of Grosvner Road turned left an was walking down the Famous London Shopping street Oxford Street wall to wall shoppes an boutiques an it was packed with wall to wall people we continued down the street till we got to Bond Street Underground Entrance and got the central line back to Liverpool Street Train Station. Young grady went to Burger King an Big Grady got a Milkshake an than we boarded the 4:15pm train back to Chelmsford Station about an half hour train ride. We left the station an walked down an brought some Chinese Takeaway home for dinner. It made for a very long day as we were unable to take any electronic items or mobile phones due to security restrictions an all the waiting around. Well that's the Goverments for you!!!!
photo card an said i needed to leave an walk down to a pharmacy n have American Photos taken of the boy as the ones we had were to small an incorrect. Big grady had to stay at the Embassy. Well off we went back out thru Security an told them what was happening an they intsructed us as to what to do when we returned back. We walked to the Pharmacy stood in a short queue an had his photos retook. We than returned back to the Embassy walked back in an gave the photos back to the clerk as she asked, while we were away Grady had already paid the Fees of £52.00 that's $76.00 plus an additional £14.00 $28.00 for a mailing envelope. We continued to wait in the waiting area untill our ticket # was called. Finally we were called forward to window four the gentleman clerk asked young grady a few questions an than Mum n Dad had to swear the oath on his behalf an sign documents. The clerk than advisied us that we were finished an would recieve the passport in the post
i was called over so they could check my handbag someting showed up on their screen so we went thru my bag an it was a tiny screwdrive that i use to fix eyeglasses so they said all was okay an than asked me to take a swig out of my water bottle so nothing was in it. Lucky for me i did'nt drop dead!!!! the boy sailed thru an than it was Big grady's turn he went thru an set off the machine which we knew because of his Aritfical Leg. Seeing that this does'nt happen much to them they had to call for someone to come down to security an do a chemical swamb on this leg. Oh what drama, drama!!! Well we finally made it thur an walked around to the Embassy Entrance we climed more stairs an went thru more heavy gold doors. Walked up to a machine punched in some info an we got a ticket than procceded to queue up again an wait to be called up to a window. We got called to window 2 an the clerk asked for all our documents an a few questions she than handed me a
continued: we sat down on a bench in Hyde Park, it was a very huge park must go on for miles... Where we sat across the path from us was the Mounument they placed for the victims of the Seven,Seven London Bombings it was pretty surreal.....We all said a quite prayer for the victims. We finished our park lunch an made the walk back to the American Embassy. We walked up to the gate an naturally it was heavily gaurded by loads of Police Bobbies all carry big powerful Guns. A bit on the scary side needless to say. Anyway they told us to return at 1:45pm as everyone was still at lunch. We walked back around to the smaller park an waited till time to queue up for the security check point. We pulled out our passports as requested an waited to be called forward. This really heavy set guard waved an asked us to come forward. we walked into the security building an they took our passports an the guy really got a giggle over young gradys picture because he looked so young in yet, the rest of placed our items into the bucket an walked thru the security machine.
Well we headed out around 10:ooish walked up to corner an caught bus into town to train station. Purchased our train tickets to London got all day travel tickets which include use of the London Underground an bus cost £26.00 that's $50.00 American monies. We caught the 10:27am train into Liverpool Street an arrived there about 11:00am walked the terminal to the Underground an got on the Central Line to Marble Arch which was about 9 stops than our exit, walked off the underground up to upper level for Park Lane walked a few blocks north to our street an turned left walked a few more blocks crossed over the zebra crossing into the American Embassy. We of course was several hours early as our appt was scheduled for 2:00pm. So we went an sat on a bench in a lovely green park with a few statues an monuments. The Sun was shining in an out an a bit on the breezy side but all an all nice weather. We decided to head out to find the public tolilets and as usual for London u had to walk an walk an walk!!!!! to find anything. We walked to the top end of Park Lane and Picaddilly Circus was to our left and Hyde Park to our right ummmm!! which way do we go? we chose the Park so we walked across and past the Entrance Gates to Buckingham Palace only where the Royal Family Stay!!! down an up the underground stairs an what to avail the Public Toliets yeahhhh!! When mission was complete we crossed over the street again into the park found a concession stand an bought some lunch...What a shock that was only £4.oo a sandwich $8.00 american 3 sandwiches an drinks an £15.00 later a that's $30.00 what a dear lunch in the Park.
